Terms & Conditions
1. The service
We build a website from the description and files you give us, using artificial intelligence (AI), host it, and give you an AI-assisted editor to change it. Optional extras include extra AI editing credit, plans with larger allowances, and custom domain names.
2. Your email address
We send your receipts, your editor login, and the link to confirm your site to the email address you give us. Please make sure it is correct and that you can receive mail there. If a developer (agency) orders a site on your behalf, they provide your address and decide when we send you your welcome email.
3. Free preview and publishing
- You can have a website built and see a private preview of it for free, with no card needed. You may ask for a limited number of changes to the preview. Previews are kept for 14 days and then deleted unless you publish.
- When you publish, you choose a plan and we charge its first month — or, with annual billing, its first year (12 months for the price of 10, including the first year of one domain registration up to a standard price) — and put your site online with its editor. Publishing is your confirmation that you accept the site; your hosting term (section 5) starts then. Sites sold by a developer are priced by that developer.
- If publishing fails on our side after we have taken payment, we refund it automatically.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Prices are in US dollars and do not include any taxes that may apply.
4. Sites ordered through a developer, or before free previews
Where a site is ordered through a developer, or was ordered before free previews were introduced, we place a hold on the card when it is ordered and take the payment once the site is built. You then have 14 days to either confirm the site (starting your hosting term) or decline it, in which case we take the site down and refund the build payment in full. We send reminders, and if you do neither the site is confirmed automatically at the end of that period.
5. Hosting, minimum term and cancelling
- Hosting is billed monthly or yearly at your plan's price (or the price of the plan you later choose). The first month or year is paid when you publish.
- Hosting has a 12-month minimum term, starting when your site is confirmed. After that it continues month to month until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from the Hosting link in your editor. If you cancel during the minimum term, your site stays online and monthly billing continues until the end of the term, then stops automatically — there is no lump-sum charge for leaving early. After the minimum term, cancelling stops billing at the end of the current month.
- We email you before each upcoming hosting charge and confirm each payment.
- If a payment fails and is not resolved, we may suspend the site until it is.
6. AI editing allowance and credit
- Hosting includes a monthly allowance of AI editing, shown on your plan. The allowance resets each month; unused allowance does not carry over.
- When the allowance runs out, the editor pauses until the next month unless you add credit or change plan.
- Extra credit and plan upgrades are charged when you buy them. Credit that has been used is not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.
7. Domain names
- Domains you buy or transfer through us are registered in your name as the legal owner (registrant), with Localpro as the administrative and technical contact so we can manage them for you. Your contact details are kept private in public WHOIS listings where the registry allows.
- Registration is not guaranteed until it completes; if a registration, renewal or transfer cannot be completed, we refund what you paid for it.
- Domains are registered for one year at a time. We email you before a domain expires; renewing is your choice and is paid for when you renew. A domain that is not renewed expires, and the website and any email using it stop working.
- Transfers in usually take 5–7 days and include one additional year of registration. You can transfer a domain away at any time using the transfer code in your Domain Manager, subject to the registry's rules (for example, no transfer within 60 days of registration, a previous transfer, or certain owner changes).
- Domain registrations are also subject to the rules of the domain registry and of our registrar provider.
8. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to publish anything illegal, deceptive, hateful, sexually explicit, infringing, or harmful — including phishing, malware, impersonation of others, or the sale of prohibited goods. We review every build request and may decline it, and we may suspend or remove a site that breaks these rules. Where we decline before building, you are not charged.
9. Your content
- You keep ownership of the text, photos, videos and other material you provide. You confirm you have the right to use it, and you give us permission to store, process, copy and display it as needed to build, host and edit your site.
- Files you attach to an order are used only to build your site and are never made available for download from our order form.
- Website content we generate for you is yours to use, subject to these terms and to any third-party rights in material you supplied.
10. AI-generated content
Your site and later edits are produced with the help of AI and may contain mistakes. Please review your site before you rely on it, and make sure that what it says — prices, hours, claims, contact details, legal notices — is accurate and lawful. You are responsible for the content published on your site.
11. Sites sold by developers and agencies
Some sites are sold by independent web developers and agencies (“developers”) using our platform — for example from a developer’s own sales page or website. When you buy from a developer:
- The developer is the seller. They set the price you pay and may have their own terms of sale, which apply to your relationship with them (for example their support, services and refunds beyond what is described here).
- Localpro provides the platform — the site builder, hosting, AI editor and payment processing — and these Terms and our Privacy Policy apply to your use of it. Where a developer’s terms conflict with these about the platform itself, these terms govern.
- Your payments are processed by Localpro (through Stripe) and shared with the developer as agreed between us.
- The developer can see your site, your email address and your billing status.
Developers who build or sell sites accept these terms for their own account, and any additional pricing or revenue terms shown in their developer console. A developer is responsible for their own terms, statements and relationship with their clients.
12. Availability and backups
We work to keep sites online and back up our systems regularly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we recommend you keep your own copies of important material.
13. Disclaimers and limits of liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, Localpro is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses (such as lost profits or data), and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to cover Localpro’s reasonable costs arising from any claim that content you provided, or your use of the service, breaks the law or someone else’s rights.
15. Ending the service
We may suspend or end the service for a site that breaks these terms or is not paid for. If we end the service for reasons that are not your fault, we will refund any hosting you have paid for in advance and not yet received.
16. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. The version shown here, with its date, is the current one.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be handled by the courts located in San Francisco, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
